Group Dining in Sterling, VA? Any ideas?
Hi There...I'm visiting from the NC board.
I'm planning a casual dinner at a restaurant for about 50 people in May in the Sterling, Virginia area. It doesn't have to be fancy, but I'd like the food and drinks to be good. I'm clueless as to what places are available and decently priced -- with good food -- in that area.
Most of the group will be staying in a hotel off the Cascades Pkwy, so that's gives you an idea of location.
(FWIW, We did Famous Dave's BBQ last year and it sucked.)
Thanks!!

While the food at Sweetwater's is good, I wouldn't label it 'decently priced'. Depending on your budget, there are some chains at the Dulles Town Center that might be able to accommodate a large group: Cheesecake Factory, Uno's, Longhorn, etc. None are great food, but all are more reasonably priced than Sweetwater. Sterling's best eateries are ethnic joints, usually very affordable but they tend to be small. If chinese is a possibility, I'd try calling Cheng's.

About a mile or so north of where you are is Sweetwater Tavern, a large brewpub that is part of a local well-respected restaurant group . For a group that large, though, I would contact the manager and see if you need to reserve a section,or if they're even willing to take on a group of that size. I'd say it fits what you need perfectly in terms of food, drink and location otherwise
