Special Vegetarian Experience

My mom is coming in to celebrate my 30th and we'd like to do something special. We are both vegetarians..any ideas? We're on the west side but willing to travel a couple hours.

Still a fan of Madeline Bistro in the SFV
Just un-believable food that's vegan gourmet
Not cheap, but not stupid high price either. Pleasant unassuming atmosphere.

Hey-
I'm vegetarian too. I really like Girasole on Larchmont, they have tons of great vegetarian options (yes multiple options, and not just the annoying roasted vegetable option!). Cobras and Matadors has many vegetarian tapas, and is fun.

If you'd like to do a tasting menu, both La Cachette and Grace do veggie tasting menus.

You can get great veggie dishes almost anywhere, especially if you tell them you're coming and want the chef to cook what he'd/she'd like...

If you have a preferred price range, that might help...
