Atlanta Recs near W Hotel

  • 5

Staying at the W Hotel on 111 Perimeter Center West next week. I am hoping you can steer me in the right direction. I am not looking for fried chicken or varsity type food. Looking for great restaurants that locals go to & I am not looking to break the bank either since I am with colleagues the entire week. If you can recommend some good spots within a 10 mile radius (will have car) that would be most appreciated! I am sure Atlanta won't dissappoint. Thanks much!

  1. La Grotta Ravinia is very good 4355 Ashford Dunwoody Rd.
Villa Cristina is a good choice also.
    E. 48th Street Market had some wonderful food. Not much room to dine but all delicious! You must try their white chocolate raspberry cheesecake, honestly the best cheesecake ever, and I don't like cheesecake.
I do like Goldfish, they have a very good shrimp and grits dish, along with their specials.
There a a lot of restaurants in that area. Good Luck!

    1. Five Season's Brewing at the Prado would be a good choice. They are on Roswell Road at the southwest corner of Interstate 285, only about 5 minutes away.

      1. Sounds like I have a few good choices, hopefully I can make it to E 48th street market before they close at 7pm. And Five Seasons seems like that would make everyone happy. Thanks for the recs guys!

        1. Rumi's is relatively close by on Roswell for a Persian fix. I've only been for lunch and highly recommend it for that.

Had lunch at Pho 79 the other day after a long absence (it's in Dunwoody on Winters Chapel). It was very good. But, FWIW, all of Buford Hwy is within a 10 mile radius.

Muss & Turner's also is, though I wouldn't want to try 285 headed that way from the W at rush hour.

          1. McKendrick's, which is an upper end steak place is in the SC across the st. Goldfish at the mall has been mentioned. Joey D's Oak Room is a solid bar with ok food. and is around the corner. The Tasting Room nearby on Sandy Springs Circle is a wine bar/ resturant with jazz in the pm that I have enjoyed a few times. Nice place to sit at the bar and eat if you are alone. Serves excellnt steak frites at lunch.
