Birthday Dinner Near Mass. Pike Exit 4 - 6, or I-91 as far North as NoHo
My mother's 86th birthday is coming up and my brother, sisters and I, who live scattered about New England are trying to find a restaurant to take her to celebrate her birthday. We've got one coming in from the Boston area, one from Burlington, VT, one from central MA and two from Berkshire (South) County. We would like this to be a special celebration, but Mom's not one for "over the top" gourmet. She recently suffered a stroke and is wheelchair bound, so we need some place that is wheelchair accessible. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It might not be in the direction you are aiming for, but Simon Pearce in Quechee, VT is a very special place. It's really lovely and the food is good but not over the top. We took my mother-in-law there for her 90th birthday. I don't know if it's wheelchair accessible, but if the location is acceptable, you could write or call them.

Where is your mother located? Would it help to have places closest to her, so she has to do the least amount of traveling of the group?
