I know its a chowhound favorite and we are looking forward to it. What are some of your favorite things to order? We like spicy food. Looking for your favorite soups, appetizer and dinner suggestions. Thank you chowhound.

Thanks chowhounds. I took your suggestions for my first time at sichuan gourmet. Great meal. We went on a friday. Crowded but no wait. We had the hot and sour wonton soup. Loved it. Nice taste. Lots of flavor. Good spices. Could become one of my favorite soups. We had the chengdu spicy lamb. Very good. Cooked perfectly. Very tender. The menu said three chillis. It was spicy but not overly hot. Next time we will ask for it extra spicy. We also had the dried chicken in chilli sauce. Wonderful dish. Boneless fried chicken pieces. Cooked perfectly. Great flavor and spices. Not very spicy even though it said two chilis. I am still thinking about this dish a day later. The roast pork fried rice was very good. I will be back soon and it will be extra spicy next time.

Chengdu spicy dumplings
fresh bamboo shoots with either spicy wonder sauce or sesame oil
dried chicken with chili sauce (absolute favorite)
smoky hot chicken with cayenne
Sichuan green beans (not spicy but tasty and nice to have some green)

My favorites (and two of the spicier dishes they serve):

sliced beef tendon in chili sauce (fuqi feipian)
dried chicken and chilies (small crispy cubes of chicken with fresh green chilies and dried red chilies)

Still prefer the hole-in-the-wall Billerica location.

Their tendon gets my vote for best in the area. It's treated with more care, better cut up and the sauce is delicious.

Dried chicken with chili sauce
sichuan double cooked bacon
beef, chicken or pork with napa and sichuan chili sauce
meatballs with vegies sichuan style (not spicy)
smokey hot chicken with cayenne.
Cumin dry beef

I would also make sure to indicate you like everything authentic/spicy, i have been there before when i thought they put less spice in the dishes.

They have a cold wood ear mushroom with chiles appetizer that could be one of my favorite things in the world. The dry fried chicken is also great.
