Sunday Brunch in Sausalito
I'm looking for a place for brunch in Sausalito for this Sunday. Any suggestions?
Le Garage is good and right on the water. Here's the link to the Place record with the website and linked reports.
If you read my report take a look at the directions. It is sort of hidden and not easy to find.
I like the buffet breakfast at Murray Circle which ends at 10 am where brunch starts. The big advantage to the buffet is the fabulous croissants ... and you can eat all you want. The brunch is by the plate. Some can be small and on the pricey side. I haven't been to MC for a while.
Here's a list of Sausalito restaurants in the Places database and you can see those marked as serving breakfast/brunch
If you are looking for homey and slightly funky there is Sartag which in addition to regular breakfasts, there are some with an Indian spin. They make their own pies which are good.
I keep meaning to try out Lighthouse Cafe. I haven't been to Fred's for literally a few decades when it had some rave in the Chronicle. The lines are still there. I liked it but since I was living in SF, it wasn't worth a special trip for me. Don't know how it is these days.
Don't know a thing about Anchorage #5. I want to try. Bayside Cafe.
Anyway they are all in the link above with websites, if any, hours and other info and linked reports, if any
85 Liberty Ship Way Ste 109, Sausalito, CA
I haven't been for brunch, but I love Poggio in Sausalito, and I've noticed a breakfast/brunch menu on their website.
Fred's is a Sausalito institution and has been there for a long time. I lived about a block away for five years in the 90s and never thought it was that good; much preferred eating breakfast elsewhere. I once ordered French Toast, sitting at the counter, and watched as they took the slices off the grill (where they looked great) and dropped them into the deep fryer. That's supposed to be a "feature", but not to me. Obviously many people love the place. Just saying that it's not for everyone. If you've never been there you should go and see for yourself.
