My old kettle recently died and I need a new one. Since I drink several types of tea and coffee requiring a wide range of brewing temperatures (60ºC to 100ºC), I'd like for the replacement to be a variable temperature kettle. A few initial forays around town haven't turned up anything except an Italian model at Canadian Tire that's said to have major reliability problems.

My currently short list, in descending order of preference, is:
- Breville BKE820XL Variable Temperature Electric Kettle
- Adagio UtiliTEA Variable Temperature Electric Kettle
- PINO Digital Kettle Pro

Any leads on stores that have one of these in stock? (I've got a long list of local Breville retailers but so far none of them stock the kettle.) Thanks!

I work at this store so take this however you would like...La Maison d'Emilie (1073 Laurier) has the Breville BKE820XL.

I'm a cashier so I won't be getting any commission on this. Just sayin'. We JUST received a Breville order a few days ago so we may not be on any updated stock lists. We do have it, though - I helped unpack it!

Dropped by La Maison d'Émilie this afternoon. They were sold out of the kettle but have more on rush order. Part of the reason why is their current promotion (through month's end), which looks to be about 25% off Breville products.

Not sure if they stock Breville ( I think they do), but Cuisine Gourmet (downtown location only) has 40% off almost all in-stock items right now, so you might want to give them a call.

Spotted a PINO Digital Kettle Pro at Café Myriade last weekend. Turns out they use it for their teas and can also order it for customers. The café says they're pleased with its performance. One of the kettle's features is that you can set the exact temperature you want the water heated to. The Breville has five presets (175, 185, 195, 200 and 212ºF). Dial-in precision vs. radio-button convenience: your call.
