Montpellier Find:Nha Que

Montpellier has, lets face it, a weak culinary reputation. Mediocre and just plain bad found abound, unless, of course, one wants to empty completely one's wallet. There is a gem, though, a Vietnamese place called Nha Que. The owner is attentive, careful with ingredients and talented. Definitely one of the best taste treats in Montpellier. Nha Que is at 30 rue Frederic Bazille, It's only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

It's good to get a new recommendation from that part of France (that isn't in some way linked to the Purcell (sp?) brothers ...

Is it open at lunch times?

I've just Googled it, and answered my own question - they don't open for lunch except on sundays (not sure if the sunday lunch/brunch is planned for the future or happening now - I wasn't sure from the website I was looking at (www.nhaque.fr.nf). However, the same guy has a takeaway which is open at lunch times at 64 Rue Saint Guilhem.

Next time we're over there, we must give it a try - thanks for the tip, it gets great reviews on the French websites.

Thanks! My husband's in Montpellier every week and loves Vietnamese food - I'll send him there.
