I just saw a note on the tube-- Looks like SDW will be on the Food Network tonight!

too early in the am - but could set me up later to go look for a chili dog for lunch !!!

Excellent!!!!!! He is a chef who makes his own toppings and from what I hear, he has hot dogs made according to his own requirements. They are delish!!!! Do try them.

Better to watch on tv than eat their overpriced bad hot dogs...........
Lots of money for less than ordinary food and bad service.

They are living on their past glory and newsclippings. We locals are avoiding them.

I'm not big on toppings anyway, but when I went in the past, I thought the dog was pretty good. They got their dogs from Miller's Provisions, which has since closed. Now I hear they use Hummel, which I think is an ok dog, but not as good as the Miller's. It seems almost every place in Southern Conn. uses the Hummel brand dog. I like it charbroiled at the Glenwood Drive In in Hamden.

I think the idea of a dog cooked on the flat top was what grabbed me - i love them that way, but you don't find it much of anywhere. I'm not a huge topping fan myself.

Don't know why you'd say that - I don't know any locals avoiding them. I think the great, fresh toppings are anything but ordinary, and the service is always super nice.

I so have got to motivate myself down to this joint from my Hartford location. Are they open on the weekends? SDW has been on my CT hotdog list for years and the summer of 2009...it's about time I get down there.
