Fried chicken in Se-MI?

I loooove fried chicken. Its one of my major guilty pleasures. And as good as Popeye's cajun chicken is, does anybody have any recs for some good real friend chicken? Bonus points if its in the form of chicken and waffles. I've tried toast's (in birmingham) chicken and waffles. The waffles are good. The batter on the chicken wasn't that great though.
