I'm looking for suggestions for a nice (read: not crazy expensive) meal in Sugar Land for a rare date with my husband. I've been to Amici before, kind of leaning towards going again. Any Indian, sushi or Italian ideas?

Japeniero for sushi and other items. Town Square.
Cafe India on Williams Trace.
Out of Africa on SW Freeway, have't been but it looks/sounds unique.
Aura in Mo.City.
What about the place in Fulshear? Ray's? Its supposed to be good and very unique for out there.

Great list, as always, jscarbor. I'd add Napa Grille.

Robb Walsh's review said that Sunday brunch at Out of Africa is a better deal than going at night. Wonder if that's true of Ray's, too.

I'm embarrassed to admit I haven't gone there yet. But it's had good reviews, and it looks interesting, just a nice casual place.

Now I HAVE been to that wine bar in Town Center, the one that faces City Hall and is next door to Ben and Jerry's, and they have a nice selection of wines by the glass and some interesting appetizers. (Oh what's the name of that place? Vineyard something?)

Vineyard on the Square -- cute little after dinner hang out or get some light eats. I know the owner and there's also a storefront next door to buy wine.
