best crab cake?

Looking for some opinions on where to find the best crab cakes in the Toronto area? Prefer somewhere downtown but it doesn't have to be. Price doesn't matter.

  1. I have tried many. Everyone raves about Emeril's, I found them to be covered in sauce and had very little crab taste. I buy them fresh at Pusateri's (from the seafood counter) and heat them up at home where I can control the sauce.

Thanks. Never been there but I'll check it out.

    2. Haven't yet found the crabcake in TO that can hold a candle to anything in Baltimore, but the Globe Bistro is pretty good.

Alice's restaurant had a pretty good crab cake when we were there in December.. Other people must like it as it's mentioned in almost every review of the place.

Actually I second this. Its pretty good as well, though again won't be mistaken for the Maryland variety.
