So looking forward to my Destin/Ft Walton Beach trip at the end of March. I would love to hit up a farmer's market. Does anyone have info?

Thanks!

  1. There isn't a lot in that regard because the Air Force owns most of the nearby land that would otherwise be farmed. Places I'd try would be Produce by a Girl Named Toni- it's off the road that cuts from US 98 to Grayton Beach in the South Walton area, and she has a cart out to show where the turnoff to her place from that road, and For The Health Of It grocery store on 30-A in Blue Mountain Beach.

Also you get a number of people selling produce by the sides of the road. Right now, it's a lot of strawberries.

We had some of those lovely strawberries in February - they are incredibly delicious, as are the citrus sold by the truck folk.

The truck we bought from is there every Friday and Saturday in front of Beall's on 98 West (across the street from Henderson State Park).

No markets around. I tried the Dept. of Ag. and they report markets in Milton and Crestview. Don't waste you're time. There's a great little farm in Navarre that has his own tomatoes and in season corn he imports from Alabama that is worth the drive , sadly you'll be to soon for him. There is an open air produce stand in Pensacola that has good selection and prices. I can't remember the name, but it has a Jolly Green Giant in front of the joint (no kidding). So, make a day trip and go to Joe Patti's Seafood in Pens. and check-out the produce joint . Take a cooler.
