Theatre District, Hell's Kitchen Restaurant, casual not too trendy

  • 7

Dinner tonight with a friend of the family and her freshman in college daughter. Nothing too expensive. Anything on the west side from 40's to 60s would work. Italian, American, no Asian. Thanks!

  1. What is your target budget (sans tax and alcohol) per person? Thanks.

like entrees from 15-25? prob $30 max per person (sans alc and tax)

    2. I've been to Nizza twice. Menu was more interesting the first time (now it's a typical Italian with a few authentic dishes) but food remains very good. Decor informal but beautiful, ambience lively. Excellent value. I think it would appeal to both mom and daughter.

      1. I am always quite pleased with Hells Kitchen (the restaurant) around 46/47th on 9th Ave. Nouveau Mexican food and would fit in your price range.

Seconded. And it's probably just the right level of trendy, too, considering the college-age daughter. I'd also add Roberto Passon, for ever-so-slightly-trendy Italian, though focus on the (excellent and huge) apps.

sounds great, thanks for your help!

        2. You might want to look into Nook also, but it is BYOB - so that might be a plus or minus.
