Intl' Markets in Rockville area?

I think it's been a while since this has been discussed, so I'll venture a new thread to capture updated info.

A coworker just saw Fresh World in Reston and is hooked by prices and selection. Rather than him trucking back down from Rockville, I said I knew there were some in or near Rockville.

However, I don't know where any of them are in that area - I only know Arlington, Fairfax, Vienna and Reston/Herndon.

Don't know of any Fresh Worlds in Rockville area. A new Super H opened in the Montgomery Village Off Price Center in space once occupied by Safeway.

There's also a Grand Mart in the Festival Shopping Center on Muddy Branch in Gaithersburg.

Plus, there are countless latino and asian specialty stores in the area.

Yekta, next to joe's noodle house, is a good persian store. It's not a sprawling asian market with loads of produce, but it has some nice middle eastern breads, cheeses, awesome dried fruit and nuts, and other cool products.

Three suggestions in Rockville area (not sure if this is exactly what you were after):

1. Korean Korner (for a hilarious mix of Asian and Latin items)

2. Kam Sam for more Chinese/Taiwanese (really good prepared foods too)

3. Maxim (a little grungier but has some things that Kam Sam doesn't)

Sam's Market, which used to be in the Ritchie Center, near IHOP, has moved to Rockville Pike into a larger space. They are family owned Persioan/Middle Eastern market, with homemade gelato and hard to find desserts and specialities.
