Lunch in Peterborough

styledel8 Mar 9, 2009 07:30 PM

Hi all, I work in sales in Peterborough. Does anyone have suggestions of where to pick-up tastey lunches that I could eat in my car like Stickley`s, and Soupcon. I am sick of the usual fast food places. Also, are there any salad bars in Peterborough.

Have you been to A Moveable Feast? Very good...

Their coffee is also excellent - beats Starbuck's by a mile! Also, if you get a chance to try Lisa's cookies... they are WICKED good!

Hot Belly Mama's is great for lunches. They'll do takeout and have the BEST sweet potato fries I've ever had, and a good menu of sandwiches. Also, there's a place on the corner of George St. and Edinburgh, just North of dt, called the Ritz Deli North (I think). They have really good sandwiches and soups. Their daily specials are usually to die for.

Try the Ritz Market Deli on Simcoe Street across from the transit terminal - different owner than the Ritz Deli North, which is also quite excellent. (North is an actual full service restaurant, while Market is more of a deli/lunch counter-type spot.)

Outside of downtown, Matsu Sushi (East City - on Hunter Street) offers excellent lunch bento boxes, and the city's best sushi.

And, finally, far off the beaten path, Pho Mi Mi (Lansdowne at Spillsbury) offers pretty good Vietnamese food at extremely reasonable prices.

Wow, I have never noticed Ritz Market Deli and I am in that area every week, I will give it a try.
            Agreed, Matsu Sushi is excellent.
I have never tried Vietnamese food but know the place you are talking about. I might try it one day.
            Thanks for info
