Visions on Coney Island and Cortelyou
I just happened upon Visions- it is a great little place with a nice menu.
It is at Coney Island and Cortelyou don't be put off by the outside or the cheesy name.
If you like Picket Fences or the Farm you will probably love this place. It doesn't have the ambience of the others but if you are serious about food than this place is better.

I agree that it is better than Picket Fence, not better than the Farm. The food and drinks there are really nice, (good burgers, good grilled salmon, really decent chicken wings, some 2 for 1 drink specials) but the feel of the place is just a bit off, I think because of the decorating choices they've made. I hope they figure out how to fix it, because it is a nice addition to the neighborhood. It is not cheap.

I don't know about Roti Canai's motives, but I don't think it's fair to say that nobody has heard of the restaurant. There has been a lot of overall chat about this place (on neighborhood blogs and listservs) because it is near Cortelyou Rd., where new restaurants have been opening. People in the neighborhood get excited when anything new comes to the area. And really, it is a decent place with good food and a full bar. It just has an odd name and a kind of dated impersonal decorating scheme.

re: gnosh
Fair enough. I admit I don’t go to any other sites that you mentioned and, besides this board, occasionally read Wednesday’s NYT food Dining Out Section. However, I do admit I am naturally sceptical of EVERYTHING I read on this board. I’ve been burned too many times on the “must see” “got to go” and “extraordinary” reviews and naturally turn a blind eye.
