Mandy’s Fish and Chips - PHX - Quick Review

johnseberg Mar 9, 2009 05:12 PM

After reading Silverbear's http://www.chow.com/profile/26466 blog, I had to check out Mandy's.

I ordered the Cod and Shrimp Combo. I would describe it as 3 medium pieces of fish, 3 breaded butterflied shrimp, and fries. I opted for the cornmeal coating over the English batter. My total was a little over $10 (no drink).

I'm fairly picky about fish, and I thought the quality of the food was very good. The fries weren't bad - they had a subtle coating, which some people may like more than I do.

I missed seeing the special, on the wall, which was a similar meal, except with catfish and hushpuppies.

Mandy's looks like it was some other fast food place, before it was remodeled, but, I can't tell what. The place is in fairly good shape, all in all.

I would recommend, but, hurry. I went during the lunch hour, and there was hardly anyone else at all. I believe they have a drive-thru.

Edit: This doesn't seem to be related to Mandy's Fish and Chips in Peoria, but, I've never been there. The website only seems to mention this address.

Edit II: I stand corrected, the Peoria store is related: http://www.free4phoenix.com/bl-mandys...

Thanks for the report. I had no idea there was a Peoria branch of the restaurant.
