Coupons, Is there a site you swear by?
I always see stories on "Coupon Queens" on the local news. Are there any coupon sites you really like and really find a good amount of the items you would normally buy? The sites I see have a lot of the same items, usually tons of Pillsbury, and cereals, I don't use. Is there a site that has a more healthy slant? One that has tremendous savings you just can't pass up?

Mambo sprouts has a healthy/organic focus:

Hot Coupon World has lots of different links, but there are a fair number of healthy coupons there.

Even Target has $1 off certain vegetables by coupon this week.
Also, check the sites for manufacturers whose products you like. Many have coupons or the option for receiving their newsletters. I have a separate e-mail address for that type stuff.
I used to work at a natural foods grocery. They received gobs of manufacturers coupons, often $1 - $2 off , but they just didn't have a place to put them out on the sales floor. So ask someone in the grocery department, they probably have some in back. If you are specific, ex: organic baby food, then they will probably be more apt to take a few minutes to look for them.
Vegetarian Times magazine usually has good coupons.

Your right, the health food co-op in my town has these booklets jammed full of coupons with high dollar value. Once they had a coupon in one for $2 off a carton of Breyers ice cream! I took it to WM and the cashier called the manager because she didn't think it was for real, the Manager told her it was legit, cha-ching!

Caveat emptor: many, many retailers and grocers will not take internet/online coupons.

Whole Foods actually has very decent monthly coupon circular. I think we are saving something like $40 this month with it. They also take internet coupons which is useful because most of the smaller brands we buy don't put coupons in the circulars.
Method, 7th Gen, Muir Glen, Stonyfield Farm all have coupons online.

I get most of mine from the Sunday paper. Otherwise from a coupon internet site that is sort of labor intensive, but I've found useful: http://www.dailyfreebies.com
It has stuff like this: http://www.all-bran.com/All_Bran_Reba...
And bricks coupons where you install the coupon printer option and it sticks a cookie on your PC (I opt out of print and have them all mailed to me when available) - short expiration dates can be tricky with that option.
Most stores here freak out if I have an internet coupon, so I don't bother unless it's an amazing deal, and also if I feel like sweetly insisting they call their supervisor if they are unsure how to key in my perfectly valid coupon...
Target coupons are awesome- if you have a target coupon and a manufacturer coupon, they will take both of them...

I got it from www.couponsurfer.com.

In case anyone is interested in free samples, there is a website that sends you sample opportunities each Sunday via e-mail--I've had free coffee, tea and cereal samples...it's not bad!

This is a site where you get free samples. You have to join it, and there is no risk in doing so. The samples are sometimes really good, but be cautious about getting on mailing lists. The reason I am directing you all to this place is because they have a forum section where there are lots of thread with links to coupons sites. Here is a link to the forum, but I'm not sure if you can get to it if you aren't a member. Try it though:

If you can't get in just go to startsampling.com

michele cindy,
Your post was really timely for me. I am usually pretty haphazard with coupons, my perception has been that most of them are for heavily processed items or for kid's products (which leaves my shopping list out). I also tend to take advantage of sales to the extent that coupons often expire well before I need the item.
With the economy in general, and unemployment a household reality, I recently went to a free workshop by this woman on coupons:
http://www.smartspendingresources.com...
The site has photos of her grocery purchases with the total paid, and the majority of the items are real food. She had some good tips so I'm giving it a try. Her site lists a number of on-line resources. Figure it's worth a try - a dollar not spent is a dollar saved!

I received an email, and in it there were a couple of other sites listed for coupons. www.Eversave.com and www.RetailMeNot.com.

I often call manufactures with questions about their products, shelf life, storage etc.. and at the end I ask if they have any coupons they can send me. Sometimes they do, and sometimes they don't, but no harm in asking. Plus the coupons will be for products that you actually use and normally buy. I have received 'good' coupons for dog food, diabetics supplies, paper towels etc.. not just food products.

I just received about $55.00 in Pillsbury products. I called because the can popped open really hard and nicked my skin. It was nothing, but I thought they should know and perhaps put a little diagram on the wrap to show how to properly hold the can to avoid this from happening to anyone else. I really think it was just a freak occurance, but they sent me more coupons for cookies and stuff then I will ever use. Also - I've called to tell mfgs something was great and they send coupons too.
