Four barrel in the outer mission

Caffeinated Comics opened up this week - it's a comic book store with a coffee counter that sells a few pastries, basically. But their coffee is Four barrel.

So for those who live in outer mission/Noe Valley/ Bernal Heights area: come here to enjoy a fantastic espresso or cup of french press without any wait or any hipsters who make you feel square (ok, maybe I'm projecting)

Java Jitters on Ocean Ave serves Four Barrel Coffee now too. I have been enjoying it for the past two weeks. The staff is super-friendly and obsessed with the quality of their coffee...and definitely no hipsters here!

I had a great espresso there today (their regular espresso is a double shot) and my mother-in-law had a large coffee. When she realized that her coffee was lukewarm she asked the staff to warm it up. Instead, they brought her a newly brewed cup on the house.

There was no wait or attitude. Everyone was really nice, more than accommodating, and the comics guy even helped me to find a book of Love and Rockets comics, something I loved in the eighties, I think it was, and haven't been able to find since then.

I like this place after only one visit.

Yes - they get a variety of pounds and half pounds every Thursday...not sure if the prices are more than they'd be at the source.

Last time I was in there there were 4 types in 1# bags. Can't remember the specifics off the top of my head. Prices ranged from $11-$14

I was a little intimidated by the comics, but this is definitely a cafe (with wifi). Donuts, affogato, Thomas Kemper sodas, etc. Nice sunny spot. I look forward to returning.

From what I understand, Four Four Barrel coffee is actually Stumptown beans from Portland. Or are they roasting their own now? In any case, the Stumptown beans are very good.

Looking forward to trying the new coffee place.

They started with Stumptown but they're now roasting their own. (It's hard believe that Four Barrel has barely been in business an entire year.)

I can report a DELICIOUS, perfect espresso with zero attitude and a smile to boot last week. I actually went outside and told 2 random people to stop in.
