Staying at the Epic but can't seem to view the menu at Area 31 right now online, do they have a lot of seafood? Looking for a place for Friday night/Lent. Other possible options...Red Fish Grill, Oceanaire, Emeril's, Joe's? Feedback or other suggestions welcome, thx!

And if you go there during happy hour, the oysters (and other appetizers) are 1/2 price! Goes from being ridiculous to merely expensive. Great beers on tap, too.

Is Grillfish across town? Don't know which restaurant you're referring to...

If you are staying at the epic, which I believe is on biscayne, you are walking distance from river oyster which is a better than grillfish which is in south beach.

I would go to joes if I were going to make the trip to south beach.

In answer to your original question, yes, Area 31's menu is very seafood intensive. That's the whole theme of the restaurant, the name is from the fishing region that includes the FL coast.

although area 31 is a seafooder, my husband and i were unimpressed with our meal there. something was missing...taste maybe?
