Help me remember the name: Italian Restaurant with Beautiful Back Patio in Theatre District

KWynn Mar 8, 2009 01:33 PM

While visiting New York a few years ago we dined at a lovely Italian restaurant in the theatre district. I believe it was in the high 40's off 8th Ave, but not positive. It had a small patio off the back of the restaurant with 8 or so tables. The menu was light with homemade pastas and wonderful entrees (my father in law enjoyed a phenomenal soft-shell crab entree special).
I'm sure there are several places that fit the bill but I'm hoping an NY-based chowhound can help me remember the name of this place since we'll be in the city next weekend and would love to return to this restaurant.
Thanks for your help.

I also immediately thought of Barbetta. It's on 46th St. (aka "Restaurant Row"), b/t 8th & 9th Avs. No patio, but a gorgeous garden. There are photos on their website, so you can see if it is the place you went to.
