We're interested to try some. Looking for recommendations for places to go (either takeout or sit-down), as well as recommendations for what to try.

Thanks!

I would have to recommend Colbeh--39th btw 5th and 6th.

As an appetizer, I would ask for mix of appetizers (which would be Hummus, babaganoush and a couple of others)
Tahdig-- (crunchy rice) w/ Ghormeh Sabzi (stew)
The Kebab Barg and Koobideh are delicous.

Hope this helps..let me know if you go!

I find Ravagh to be solid. Fantastic grilled meats, exotic rices (I love the albaloo polo, which is mixed with sour cherries), and kash-bademjan (eggplant, tomato and yogurt).

Thanks everyone for the input. I'll plan to try Ravagh's UES location for take-out one day. Colbeh is actually close enough as a lunch option for work days so maybe I'll find someone to go with when the weather improves. Hope to try both places some time soon!
