My lunchtime ethnic buffet favorites are:
      1) Thai Pan Asian on Chapel Street; and
      2) Jalapeno Heaven in Branford (buffet Tues-Thurs lunchtime only) - the spicy seafood chowder on the buffet is fabulous
      3) Chengs on Boston Post Road in Orange - typical Chinese, but with an excellent baked salmon, and some OK sushi
New Haven has 4 similar Indian restaurants with lunch buffets, all $9.95, I think.
Thai Inter is another Thai lunch buffet on Chapel Street, price is low (5.99 - 6.99), but quality not as good as Thai Pan Asian

Can not go wrong with the Brazilian Buffets in Bridgeport with Terra on North Ave being my favorite.

Best Indian buffet would have to be Bangalore Restaurant at the Kings Hyw Circle in
        Fairfield.

Also For Great Spanish Cuisine, check out Ramirez Restaurant on East Main Street in Bridgeport. Great food and good table service. Not buffet but best Dominican/Puerto Rican around.

Same goes for Lennox Cuisine on Boston Post Road in Bridgeport, across from Harding High School. Best Jerk Chicken and Jerk Pork around. Good food, large portions, cheap.

There are a couple of good Indian ones. My favorites: Star of India on the Post Rd. in Orange, and Thali Too on Orange Street in New Haven.

At lunch today, Thali Too was menu-only, not a buffet.

Whoops. I meant the Sunday brunch at Thali, not Thali Too!

There are a few Brazilian restaurants in Bridgeport you might want to try. They all have a steam table buffet.

              Terra Brasilis - 1282 North Avenue www.terrabrasilisrestaurant.com

              Flaviense - Main Street

El Pantanal - Frank Street - Is a bit harder to find but the food is good.
