Ouest - best dishes?

rteplow Mar 6, 2009 12:02 PM

What are must-have choices at Ouest? My husband and I are having dinner there tomorrow night.

I've searched the boards already, but it's hard to find specific dishes, since Ouest is usually mixed in with requests for other UWS restos.

Thanks in advance.

Their short ribs are divine. Also an appetizer of salmon gravlax and chick pea pancake. I like Ouest very much.

For Apps, definitely the truffled egg souffle, and the housed smoked sturgeon. Never unhappy with either of those. For mains, depends on the specials, but the short ribs, the loin of lamb and sausage and the squab are my favorites. The soups are also typically pretty good, as is the baby octopus.
