What kind of food and in what price range? There are several good choices in and around Glendale, from Zankou Chicken to Bistro Verdu. My current favorite in the area is Carousel, which has quite delicious middle eastern food. Best hummos I've had anywhere in LA, and great cheese fatayar. I think I just talked myself into getting dinner there tonight! 304 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale 818-246-7775

Might try Mandaloun at 141 S. Maryland, behind the Borders Books and that area. S.I.V. gave it 2.5 stars on April 21. Been open 4 months or so. Ara Kalfayan formerly of Phoenicia and still of Kix, its successor, is the owner, and he understands restaurants very well. I have eaten many meals from his operations with great success. Not sure of their hours and days open, but at 818.507.1900 you could find answers to most of your questions. Ara loves wine, and I would expect a good list.

If you want a restaurant on the higher end, Cinnabar would be a good choice. The food is inspired by Franco-Pacific Rim influence and creatively prepared in artistic presentations. The restaurant is housed in a former Bekins Storage building that has been stylishly redone.
