Looking to go to chinatown in search of some dim sum and just good food, not take out junk, I want some good food, any suggestions? I can eat at more than one spot in a day. I like to aadventure.

People will say you should go further east to the SGV for much better dim sum than you'll get in Chinatown.

Only two dim sum (not take out) places in LA Chinatown I would recommend are Empress Pavillion & CBS Seafood....only dim sum adventure is going from one end of Chinatown to the other.

I like Ocean Seafood on Hill Street. They have cart service and it's much better then Empress Pavilion.

Not having been there in years I was taken to lunch by a colleague at an old standby called the Golden Dragon on Broadway virtually across the streeet from the Empress Pavillion. I had eaten there for years until I felt that the quality ahd fallen off terribly. I was pleasantly surprised not only as to the quality but the varieties that were being served. I think it's worth another try and that you might enjoy it as well.

Yes, there have been similar posts recently and I'd agree it's back from the dead.

The dim sum at Golden Dragon is about the same quality dim sum you'd get at New Won Kok, nothing inovative or exotic to go out of your way for.

I actually would go out of the way for New Won Kok's baked bao.

OP said no take out and for baked bao NWK is good and so is Family Pastry (65 cents-good amount of filling). But, OP could pick some up to go.
