Feng Mao Mutton Skewer - Perceptor's Report

Perceptor Mar 5, 2009 02:53 PM

thanks to the great report from Exilekiss, i was made aware of this interesting eatery called Feng Mao Mutton Skewer... a big mutton/lamb lover to begin with, I definitely wanted to check out Feng Mao... what a fun meal.. the mutton skewers were definitely their highlight.. a perfect mix of seasoning, lean meat, fatty meat.. each mutton bite is a party in your mouth.. they offer a whole line-up of other body parts on skews.. we tried intestine, kidney, liver, gizzarrd and the fan fav Bull's penis!!! it was really good and chewy.. i definitely would return to Feng Mao for another meal and try other skewers on the menu...

hey perceptor, on the mutton skewers, are they very gamey and smelly. the reason why i'm asking is that i had some of those cumin-laced lamb skewers at a tiny joint on valley blvd in san gabriel and man were they gamey.

i'm not saying it's a bad thing, just that it's too much for me, sort of like a a very runny, pungent chevre or bleu.

also, this joint was mentioned in the times a couple weeks back.
