Store Selling Coca Tea?

Can anybody recommend a store that sells coca tea? This is tea made from the leaves of the coca plant. I believe that it is legal. There is confusion as the leaves are also used to make cocaine. I haven't seen it in health food stores. I presume that a store specializing in products from South America may sell it.

  1. In the US, the Code of Federal Regulations includes coca leaves on the schedule of controlled substances, so the tea is not legal here.

    21 C.F.R. 4 1308.12(4) (1994).

You omitted the section that states " except that the substances shall not include decocainized coca leaves or extraction of coca leaves, whhch extractions do not contain cocaine or ecgonine" (which is what Coca Cola uses).

The only place I could find that sells coca tea was located in North Carolina, but does mail order:

The OP didn't say where they were, but I'd try to find a Bolivian grocery store; e.g.,

yes, it's Queens, but my quick search didn't pop anything up in the rest of the tristate region.
