Just Visiting

My wife and I are going to be in San Francisco for a couple of days and I was wondering about the best places to eat. I have seen several other posts similar to this, but I don't really want to know restaurant names. We kind of like to wander around and find places to eat. What I would like to know is where are the best places to wander? I don't want to end up searching for food in the wrong neighborhood. We eat any kind of food and would really like to find some diversity. After reading some of the posts in this section I am getting excited for the trip. It sounds like San Francisco is a food Mecca. Thanks.

  1. Id say the Mission is a fairly compacted area to be able to find all sorts of good things, from seasonal fresh, to cool bars, to taquerias/taco trucks, to hip/trendy spots, etc. My favorite place to be in the city.

That sounds perfect. I have been planning on finding a taqueria and I have an addiction to fresh seasonal food.

    2. Ferry Building at the end of Market Street, 24th Street in the Mission and in Noe Valley; Valencia Street, Clement Street, West Portal, North Beach – something you won't find in Montana is Marco Polo ice cream at 1447 Taraval Street at 25th Avenue.

Thank you for the insight. I really enjoy finding things that I don't have the luxury of being exposed to in Montana.
