Any comments about Macaroni on St-Laurent?

cricri7 Mar 4, 2009 06:31 PM

Hi.....A friend of mine wants to go to dinner Friday night and she asked me to find a place that will have music/atmosphere..that sort of thing. I have heard about a resto/bar on St-Laurent street called Macaroni. Has anyone been there? I want to add that we are 40 year old, but don't look it;)........would we be out of place there?

If you have suggestions for 2 women, that don't go out as much as they used to, for a restaurant where we could have fun! Price is not really an issue but we don't want to end up paying 200$ a piece either.

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Maximilien...have you gone there in the past? I had already looked at their menu. I will not be going there for the food, I am pretty sure of that, but I was wondering about the music and kind of people there. Are there only 20 year olds there?

Lesley Chesterman gave it a good review in the Gazette: http://www.montrealgazette.com/life/D...

crici7, if you go (or anyone else) please let us know about it.
I just wonder about the location - it housed how many restaurants? Seems like a suicide venue...

If everything goes according to plan, we are going to Macaroni tonight. My friend has been feeling low lately and she wants to go someplace where we can look at people at laugh a bit with lively music. We are not at all people who hang out on St-Laurent, I went to Globe once and had a very bad experience there, so we are out of our element. We can go and dance at the Belmont, if it still exists, if we feel up to it. At 40 year old, we sometimes don't feel up to it...haha...

I will be sure and come back and tell people about it.

What is the exact location? Is it located in front of the Belmont?

The mac and cheese and the gnocchi poutine are tasty.

Thanks jptimbaud for the tip! What about the music and the crowd? Did you taste the salmon tartare?
