Pizza Joint for Private Party?

I'm looking to throw a party in April for about 60+ people. I'm looking for something economical....I'm thinking a pizza restaurant where I can do simple menu, beer and wine for a few hours. My budget is around $2k - $3k. Thank you for any ideas...!

  1. John's Pizzeria, on 44th St., b/t 7th & 8th Avs., would probably be a good place for your party. Whether they can do it within your budgetary constraints is something you'll have to discuss with them.

    1. A few years ago when we were in Patsy's on 1st Ave at 117 Street I was surprised to see a large room in the rear of the bar area where a big group was having a private party. It looked like a great place for an informal gathering.

Ah, now THAT'S a good pizzeria! Unlike John's at 44th St.

Are they actually big enough for 60+ people without doing a complete buyout?

        2. Thanks for all the suggestions. Much appreciated. Already in negotiations with John's Pizza. Has anyone done an event at Patsy's Pizza in the city? Are there any other places that have private rooms and reasonable menus?

Three of Cups in the East Village has a private room and will do unlimited pizza and open bar within your budget. L'Asso might as well.

We had my daughter's 2nd birthday party at Totonno's on 26th & 2nd. They have an upstairs room. I know there are people on this board who don't like it, but we used to live in the area and always had good pizza there. And at the party, they were as nice and accommodating as can be, and the food was plentiful and terrific. This was over 2 years ago, though, so you might want to try the food for yourself to see if you like it.

              1. otto...not sure if they have a private room but they do offer a group dining option.
