Any great diners on the road from San Diego (Miramar) to Palm Springs?

Not sure which route we'll take but a good diner could be the decision making factor. Thanks.

It's not a great diner (it is a good one), but you've gotta stop at the Wheel Inn in Cabazon, home of the Cabazon Dinosaurs!

We take the lovely Palms to Pines freeway and we always stop at the Cahuilla Creek Casino in Anza that is a riot..tent version with diner food and every penny machine this side of the Rockies..great people watching while you are dining too!

Yes, the only "freeway" in California where 80-year-old tourists can block a mile of traffic by refusing to use the pullouts! "Dear, what did that there sign say about slow vehicles?" (Fortunately, everyone else is extremely patient. ;-)

I've never stopped in at Cahuilla Creek, not even to use the bathroom, but on your recommendation I'll get a pocketful of pennies and make the scene next time over. I hear their biggest jackpot was $3.73!
