What's new in (downtown) Mesa?

Just started working in the downtown Mesa (Main St. and Center area) after a 10 year stint elsewhere. What’s new in the area I should know about? What’s good?
Is Super Gyro still open (University and Country Club)?
Anywhere close for a good carry out salad, sandwich?
Any noteworthy Thai or Chinese in the area?

Benjarong Thai is fairly close by. They have an extensive menu, including lots of good curries. I'm also a fan of the avocado torta at Mango's, just down the street from you.
