(MSP) Simple Provisions Dairy Delivery?

I was at the Food & Wine show this weekend and picked up some information about Simple Provisions. It's a home delivery service for organic farm products around the Twin cities. Has anybody tried this yet? The prices seem very fair for the dairy products.

Here's a link to the site:

  1. I am a former customer (2008) and left since I never got a accurate statement and rarely got an accurate delivery. If he remembered me at all.

The owner was very nice. Just never had it together and its not cheap.

And its annoying when you go to the grocery store and skip milk & eggs since you are eagerly awaiting your delivery which never shows. Or only partially shows.

I do have friends who have been pleased with the service.

    But I haven't inquired recently.......

    1. I thought I'd add an update to this post.

For the past month, I've been receiving delivery from Simple Provisions. I've been extremely happy with the quality of their milk and eggs and would highly recommend using this service. The milk is $3.60 per half gallon of organic non-homogenized milk, so it's pretty comparable to the price of milk from a co-op.

I haven't had any problems, so maybe the owner was able to straighten out his organization problems. Every time I've emailed to ask for a delivery, he has delivered what I requested on the day that he said he would.

      1. Buyer beware.

I have now received two deliveries and the milk tastes great, however, I did not receive my last scheduled delivery.

Though I have tried calling and emailing I have yet to receive a reply at 4 days out from the missed delivery. It is very frustrating to run out of milk, expecting a delivery and having already gone shopping (as St. Paul Susie noted)--especially with a milk-crazed two-year-old. In addition, I payed the minimum $100 prepayment and cannot tell whether the owner is going to uphold his end of the deal by providing me with milk in exchange for the cash. Given my frustration, I did a web search for problems with Simple Provisions and found St. Paul Susie's post. Wish I had done the research up front...

Does anyone have any further experiences with this company, or were these issues resolved? I'm really interested in signing up with them, but I don't want to deal with these problems if they haven't been addressed.
          Thanks for any info!
