I have family visiting NYC and I need your help! I want them to experience great food and a unique/slightly trendy atmosphere that they can only experience in NYC. I'm thinking downtown...

What are your thoughts on:
10 Downing, Morandi, Bobo, L'Artusi, Balthazar, STK, Butter?

HELP! Thanks!

  1. Haven't been to STK or 10 Downing, but here's my opinion:
Morandi: Been for brunch and enjoyed myself...Haven't heard great things about dinner offerings.
Bobo: Great decor...Not impressed with the food.
Butter: Solid spot IF and only IF you don't get seated downstairs.
    Balthazar: Solid
    L'Artusi: Love. Love. Love.

    1. Balthazar. Great food and the scene cannot be beat if you aren't from here. We always take out of towners here and they always love it. Euros- and midwesterners alike!

      1. I've been to 10 Downing twice in the past month and enjoyed it both times.
Great chicken. But I think it's the type of restaurant that can be found in almost any large city in the US. I think Balthazar is a great choice, the food is solid and people from out of town seem to love it.

        1. Morandi had a nice scene but the food was below average. I would say Balthazar for a mix of a fun, NY scene and great food.

          1. i'd consider Scarpetta also
