Where Can I Find these Tumblers?

CindyJ Mar 2, 2009 01:49 PM

I saw these tumblers being used for margaritas today on an episode of "Grill It! With Bobby Flay." I'd love to get some for myself. They look like Mexican glass. A Google search came close, but not close enough. I've emailed the Food Network to ask where I might find them. But I thought I'd ask here, as well. Any suggestions?

I haven't ordered from here, but here is one place you could find them:

I Googled Mexican glassware and found them. I have shot glasses that match the set, but they were a gift purchased from a local liquor store (I just asked). :

I have the blue swirl rocks glasses, but I got mine while on vaca in Cabo!

As I said, "close, but not close enough." Both of those web sites have the glasses I'm looking for, but not with the aqua rim. Maybe this is the excuse I've been looking for to take a vacation in Cabo. :)

I was actually going to suggest that going there personally to choose them is even more fun than mail order! Cabo is the ONLY place in Mexico I ever traveled and didn't get sick! There is an actual glass factory in Cabo. Here's a link to it:

I didn't go. As you might imagine, there are tons of stores that sell the very same glasses right in town, but for sure, you could find the exact glasses you seek! ;) I love a quest for a special item, don't you?

I love the challenge of special-item shopping, too, even if it is sometimes frustrating. A few years ago we were in Italy and I was looking for hand-painted pasta dishes, like the ones Deruta is known for. The choices were overwhelming at times. I finally found what I was looking for in a little shop in Siena, but instead of buying them on the spot, I decided to shop further in that town. When I decided to go back to buy the dishes I couldn't find the shop, and when I finally found it, they were just about ready to close for the day. But I DID get them, and I love them!

Depending on where you live some possibilities would be IKEA or maybe Cost Plus World Market. I've seen similar items at both.

I have glasses that look pretty similar except they have more color than the green/blue. If I had to guess I think I got them at World Market. Unfortunately, all World Markets around here went belly up.

I checked their website, and there aren't any World Market stores here in PA or in nearby DE.

I think I've seen them at Pier 1.

I was thinking about stopping into Pier 1. These look like something they might sell. Thanks.

I've seen something similar at both Crate & Barrel and Pottery Barn, especially during the summer.

That was another thought that had occurred to me -- that since margaritas are often associated with summer (at least here in PA), the tumblers might become available locally as the weather turns warmer.

Check out the stores in the weeks before Cinqo de Mayo. I'm sure you'll find a reasonable facscimile. I also thought of Linens & Things or Bed, Bath & Beyond. (One of them is out of business around here, but I can't remember which one).

This is closer, but not as much fun.

DingDingDing!!!! Yayadave gets the prize. I think Magellan's "All Purpose Rocks" or "Double Old Fashioned Rocks" glasses are VERY close -- maybe even the very same ones. Thanks!!!

I'm not sure if these are the same ones but Kohls Dept Store has Bobby Flay mexican style large and small tumblers in a pale greenish color with a etched design in the glass.
