Need fresh Mexican Chorizo

west79chiro Mar 2, 2009 04:08 AM

Just returned from Zihuatanejo, Mexico and we had the best chorizo tacos I've ever had. It made me realize that most of the chorizo I've been buying/cooking/ordering here stinks. Where can I find the real stuff? I live near Spanish Harlem so I know it must be close (and I read some things about Casablanca Butcher Shop which I will have to try). Any other ideas?

Anyone got a really good recipe so I can make it myself??

Tehuitzingo Grocery in Hell's Kitchen carries fresh Mexican chorizo.

Tehuitzingo is located on 47th @ 10th Ave. There's also another grocery store around the corner from Tehuitzingo on 46th between 10th and 11th Aves. that sells fresh Mexican chorizo.
