Private Party/Rehearsal Dinner at Bar in Midtown?
I'm hosting a private party for 75-100 people on a Friday night in April 2009. It is actually the "rehearsal dinner" for my wedding but we are trying to manage the weekend costs so we are not doing a formal "sit down" dinner....just a 'cocktail hour'...for a few hours.
I am looking for a reasonably priced private room at a midtown east bar that can offer appetizers (buffet or passed) and an attractive drink discount for 3 hours. Budget around $1,500 - $3,000.
I've noticed that there are some Irish pub's in the area that have nice private rooms and seem to offer specials for private parties. I am not restricted to midtown if the price is right, but the hotel is on 45th and Madison.
Does anyone have any experiences and/or suggestions? Much appreciated!
I had the same criteria (numbers and heads) for our company holiday party in 2007 and chose the World Bar at the Trump World Tower. Don't let the word "Trump" scare you away...The prices were reasonable and I came in under budget: http://www.hospitalityholdings.com/
Also, look in to "The Volstead." They may be able to help as well: http://www.thevolstead.com/
