Utsav in Vernon is also terrific, and getting increasingly popular. I highly recommend it. While not familiar with Udupi Bhavan, we recently enjoyed a meal at Havelli. Still some great spots left, but hard to believe that AoI could not make it in a town like Glastonbury.

I'm not an expert on Indian food, but would have to agree that Utsav is terrific. Not only is the food fantastic, but the service very friendly. Went again this past weekend-they now have a liquor license. Of note, there is a little meditteranean market next door that has homemade baklava. The girl at the register informed me that her mom makes it- delicious.

That is a shame! It was one of the best Indian restaurants in the area. I can only tell you (closer to home for me--thus I have not been to AoI in a few years) that Haveli India in Middletown is just as good. I can literally walk there from my house.

That won't help you if you live in Glastonbury, but a tip for you nonetheless.And, also in Middletown, all-vegetarian and very low-key (order at the counter and carry your tray to the table) is Udupi Bhavan. Just ate there last night, in fact. Try the dosas...they are immense and quite delicious.
