Where should I go for lunch today

I've been eating heavy food for two days and am looking to have a refreshing lunch somewhere within 20 min's drive of me "culver city." No Thai, Italian, or BBQ i'd like to keep it under 15 a person before tip any ideas??? The friend i'm dining with is Vegan but she seems to find things to eat at most meat heavy restaurants i'm a carnivore :).

Thanks in advance

  1. It's such a beautiful day ........The Rose Cafe in Venice has a sit down section in the back where you can be served. The outside patio is so pleasant and the food is light and healthful . I'm sure both of you could find something on the menu that would just hit the spot.

    1. Have you considered Tender Greens?

Yea, I was going to say Tender Greens. A big, fabulous salad sounds perfect.

      2. How about The Curious Palate? On the south side of Venice Blvd. in Mar Vista between Inglewood and Grandview. It looks like one of the soups is made from coconut milk, and might be vegan, as could a couple of salads and sandwiches, for your friend. For you, plenty of meat and cheese items. Don't forget that a thread below raves about their chocolate chip cookie, and some of their other bakery items might be really good. Worth a try.

        1. Mariscos Chente or how about Metro Cafe on Washington Place and Sepulveda?

          Metro Cafe
11188 Washington Pl, Culver City, CA 90232

          Mariscos Chente
4532 S Centinela Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90066

there is virtually nothing for a vegan to eat at mariscos chente.

i ate dinner at metro cafe last night, and don't recall even one vegan entree; can't imagine they''d have much more for lunch. . . .

Metro does have a grilled tofu salad. And I took the OP at his word with the assurance that his friend found something to eat, even when they went to meat intensive restaurants.

that's great to know about metro.
                thanks for the 411

          2. Hey, Ben - where did you end up going?
