Quick and good Saturday lunch in Pasadena or South Pasadena

I seek a quick and good lunch either in South Pasadena right by the Mission station OR a bit further north in the central area right by either of the two light rail stops. I will be a pied/en tren, so please don't give me suggestions that are "a little further away..." even though they might be really good, as I'll be unable to heed them.

I was thinking of either one of the Saladang twins, but am open to suggestions. Could be another cuisine, could be sandwiches. Informal, definitely. And rapid.

I'm familiar with the area, having eaten before at Saladang and Barcelona, but I am not very familiar with other dining options that may await me hidden among the large, chaotic, bustling chains on Colorado Blvd (which, needless to say, don't appeal too much for my current search).

Thanks in advance!

How about Nicole's in South Pasadena, just a short block from the train stop.

Heirloom Bakery at Mission and Meridian is IMO the best breakfast in town.

Not close enough to the Gold Line.

It's actually only 3 blocks from the Lake street station.

If by 3 blocks you mean half a mile, then yes. Didn't sound like the OP wanted to do a mile's worth of walking.

La Grande Orange ain't bad, and it is AT the Del Mar station. Just across the park from Del Mar (very short walk, about one block) is Central Park. Both would be fine choices, easily accessible. For quick & cheap, there's a branch of Philly's Best at the Del Mar station as well. They make a good cheesesteak and Italian hoagie. LGO and Central Park are both sit-down places (albeit casual), and not as quick as Philly's Best.

Yup, LGO would be my choice.

I can't recall the name, but I ate a memorable meal at a reasonable & delicious Himalean Buffet. They specialize in Yak, which is the national staple, but everything was amazingly delicious. Chai came with the buffet, also. JET

I believe you are thinking of Tibet Nepal House.

Second Mike and Anne's. Great burger, if you like charbroiled. I don't so much, but I liked this one a lot anyway. Plenty of other more adventurous stuff on offer, too.
