130 South American Grill & Sushi - FOR SALE

Gwendolen Feb 27, 2009 03:09 PM

I haven't posted in a while so I don't know if anyone posted about this. This restaurant on 130 South in Yardville, formerly Giovi's, has a big for sale sign on it. I have to say, I am not surprised whatsoever, thought it would tank sooner than it did. I'm not a cheap person, but their prices were outrageous for this area! Every time I drove by there, (almost every day), there were hardly any cars in the parking lot.

Let's hope whatever goes there next is a lot better.

I agree with you completely. I went there several months after it opened. The food was good but not good enough to justify the insane prices. Looking around, I realized I was paying through the nose for atmosphere. I'm willing to do that at Rat's, because it IS lovely there, but not at this place. It's a great location with all the development going on in the area. I would love to see a non-chain pancake house or something like that open up there. Just please, no more Italian restaurants - we're riddled with them in Hamilton. Even though it's my favorite kind of cuisine, I could really use some more variety.

AMEN! The first time we tried them we ordered out sushi, my husband went to pick it up and as the girl was packaging it up.... her hair brushed across it!! YUCK! And YES...way too $$$$!

This place was a bit ver the top, and you could tell they spent a ton of money renovating it. The inside was nice, and the sushi was good, but I didn't seem them lasting. Fear not though, new sushi is coming a few blocks away in the new shopping center being built. I think it is going to be called Fusion II, and is the same owners as Kenji's Fusion Asian Bistro on Route 33 in Hamilton. -mJ
