Any comments/thoughts on Perigree in the Distillery?

  1. Yes. The restaurant is called Perigee.

    1. when this first opened, man, was i ever impressed. by far, one of the best tastings i have ever had, hands down, period. the environment does leave a little bit to be desired (nowhere near as sleek as susur, for example), but the food wins. it was creative, SO tasty, generous, and the service was outstanding. i think we did the 7 course tasting & it easily worked out to about 10. you are asked about your food preferences prior to the start of the meal and they really go out of their way to please you.

      the concept has changed slightly since then but it still comes down to exceptional food that is prepared according to your food preferences. honestly, if you're going to blow a huge chunk of change on a meal, go here. you will not regret it!

      1. i tried pergiee in the fall (had the tasting menu) and found most dishes to be decent but nothing wow'ed me. ambiance and atmosphere was a bit cold (also literally chilly where we sat, though seeing the kitchen was interesting), the service was slightly awkward, though i could tell they were trying. in comparison, i also dined at splendido around that time period and had a tasting menu. it may just be preference (both decor and food), though that experience had its flaws, i think overall i found splendido edged perigee out on my evaluation criteria...that being said, i won't be rushing back to either restaurant any time soon.
