Where to eat in Waterbury???

  • 5

I just scored tickets to the Leonard Cohen concert in Waterbury. YES!!!!. I tried desperately to get tickets for his NYC concert lasat week but he sold out in 14 minutes and tickets were going for up to $4000. on Ebay. Anyhow, the concert is at the Palace Theater. I know nothing about Waterbury. Is there a good place to eat within walking distance of the Palace? Is there a good place to eat period? Please help. Thanks in advance.

  1. There is the City Hall Cafe about 2 blocks from the Palace. They've got a website. Check it out. It's a fairly nice restaurant. It will be loud because of the crowd before the show, but the food is good. Not too expensive. There is a parking garage (pay) right next to it and they have a small parking lot (free) too.

    1. I haven't been in years, but is San Marino still pretty decent? I have not been to City Hall but have heard some good things about it

I haven't been to Diorio in years, either, but just spoke to an old Waterbury-native friend this month. She introduced it to me years ago. I asked if they still go and they do. Good food, reasonably priced, no-fuss parking, just park in the lot and walk in. It's a separate ride from the Palace, but worth the trip:

        Diorio is another great choice.

      2. I'd give a try to Signatures Restaurant on Leavenworth Street. It's within walking distance to the theater. I've heard good things about it but haven't been there myself. It's fairly new. See it at signatureswaterbury.com.

I've heard good things on this board, too, re Signatures. Here's a link to that thread:
