Restaurant near Vanneau
I am taking my assistant to Paris for her first business trip. We have one dinner on our own. I want to take her some place nice but that looks "financially responsible" for this type of economy. Suggestions?
I should also mention we will be eating relatively early because as soon as we are done I am leaving her so that I can go have dinner with friends. So I don't want anything that will be drawn out.
A small place with excellent reviews is "Granny" at the corner of Rue de Sevres and Pierre Leroux which is about 50 meters from the Vaneau metro. A larger, usually packed fun place, with great salads, croques Messiers/mesdames and good Beaujolais wines is "Le Nemrod" at the corner of St. Placide and Cherche Midi. More well known places in the immediate area abound: Epi Dupin, Chez Dumonet, Domaine de Lintillac, Le Vin de Soif, etc., etc.
The immediate neighbourhood is quite residential and quiet and not too many choices around.
You can try Oudino , 17, Rue Oudinot, 7th arr. French traditional bistrot. Opens 7:30 PM for dinner.
Do I get this right, are you going to have dinner with your assistant and then again with friends??
Or then, you could also head to Place de l'Ecole Militaire. The busiest part of the 7th arr.
Lots of cafés, brasseries, etc. around which will have continuous service while bistrots and restos will not open until 7 or 7:30 PM.
