Any thoughts on this place? We're headed to dinner before a gig at the Jazz Gallery on Hudson. Trying to find someplace close, since I'm 9 months pregnant! My foodie days are a haze, but I hate a mediocre dinner.

Try Shortys.32 - it's on Prince between MacDougal and Sullivan, about as close as Les Amis would be. The food is super (try the artichoke soup and the chicken!) and they play great tunes to get you in the mood for your jazz outing.

Good suggestion. The menu looks delicious. I'm a Brooklynite almost five years now, and I couldn't think of a downtown Manhattan restaurant to save my life anymore!
