Looking for fun place with atmosphere similar to Buddakan for 6-8 people to celebrate 35th birthday. Any suggestions?

DEFINITELY NOT TAO! What a shame...PLace used to be good....I couldnt even eat my food the last time I went there.
    Geisha's a good joint.

Between the 2, I'd go with Buddakan...Tao sucks. Are you looking for other options or just deciding between the 2? Thanks.

Hmmm...On a Sat night? Probably so. When did you try to get reservations? Maybe we can find you something last-minute.

OK, so I just checked opentable.com. For the type of place you seem to be looking for, I see availabilities at: Tao (you mentioned that in your post), Red Egg, Mr. Chow Tribeca, Asia de Cuba, Japonais, China 1...

Who cares...I say just go for it. You never know what could happen, plus you can always hang out at the bar area while you wait for your table.

                                Sure...
Cabanas at The Maritime Hotel (the weather will be nice tomorrow)
The Living Room at The Standard Hotel
Plunge at Hotel Gansevoort (a bit obnoxious, overpriced and loud...but the space is beautiful...good stop BEFORE dinner)
