dumplings & beer

Doesn't this sound delicious? It's what I'm craving tonight. Where's a place with good dumplings that's not a complete take out joint... that's either BYOB or sells beer. Somewhere around Flatiron/east village/ les/ tribeca area.

Thanks!!!

I third Dumpling Man. Unlike much of its competition, the dumplings are made from quality ingrediants and seared with water steam (!!) old school style. Tasty and feels better in the tummy than $1 4 dumplings places that use the least healthy parts of the pork to stuff dumplings with. enjoy, and go with the pork seared!

Setagaya has dumplings and beer. Buddakan has edamame dumps and beer, I think Republic has some dumplings too. The yakitori place on 9th st. and 3rd upstairs has dumplings beer and music ( cant ever remember the name has korean food in back)

I second Dumpling Man at 100 St Marks between 1st and A. Fantastic place. Seating is at counters, not tables - which I don't mind. Try to get a seat at the counter facing the nice ladies making the dumplings. Mesmerizing. Oh, and they definitely have beer (bottles, mostly asian varieties is what I recall).

Pricier than chinatown takeout places (about $4 for 6 or $6 for 10) but *much* better quality. Seared pork are lovely. Also delicious are the special veg, steamed with one of the shittake fillings.

I think Dumpling Man on St. Marks Place serves wine and beer.
