Great Fried Chicken in Cincinnati

We've tried a number of places and have had good fried chicken but last night we went to Scott's BBQ in Forest Park at Northland and Southland Blvd. strip mall. We haven't been there for months and have always loved their BBQ chicken (especially the sauce) but they've added a full assorment of fried chicken and it was amazingly good (the best we've had so far). The sides were great as well, the green beans and potatoes w/onions (peppery).

Oh, does that ever sound good! We love fried chicken (at least we used to before the dr. put us on a 'healthy living plan'! We've had the Greyhound chicken on Sundays and enjoyed the whole old time experience. But we havent tried SCott's and will have to!

The one place we get 'take-out' fried chicken from is " The Hitching Post" at 4535 Kellogg Road sort of near River Downs Race Track. We only do take out there and don't really eat there.

There is also another 'Hitching Post' in Hyde Park that is a separate operation but apparently uses the same recipe for the chicken.

That must be some pretty good chicken at Scotts. Maybe we'll drive over there tomorrow for a Sunday supper and see what we think! Thanks for the tip.

According to their web site they're closed Sundays and Mondays. Closing on Sunday...hmmm...better go soon, because I doubt they'll be in business very long.

I hope they stay in business - really good quality at affordable prices. I thought that they do a Sunday Brunch - at least they used to. They're probably closed for dinner on Sunday's. I would call first though. I think they do a big take out business.

The Fried Chicken must be pretty new since they haven't updated their on-line menu. It's definitely on the menu in the restaurant. I would still call about Sunday's - you never know.

The chicken at the Greyhound Tavern in Ft. Mitchell is pretty tasty. I think they might have a special "all you can eat" night,

They also have the chicken on their Sunday brunch buffet.

Yes--the chicken special is good on Mon and Tues nites. Even tho it isn't "all you can eat" chicken, they bring you a huge platterful--the sides (mashed pots and gravy, green beans, slaw and great biscuits) are family-style and they will keep bringing as much of those as you want. It ran 13.99 the last time we were there (in the fall)

sounds yummy. i am a big fan of the schoolhouse in camp dennison. yummy!

Schoolhouse was pretty good but we only ate there once when there was still smoking and it was unbearable, we'll have to go back.

i love the corn fritters and the other sides. have gone there since i was little!
